Discover the two winners of the Medicen Softlanding Program 2017!

In March, we announced the names of the 8 startups selected for the program. In May, we welcomed the delegation in Boston for an intense week with workshops, events, mentoring sessions, and individual meetings. We are now happy to unveil the two winners of the Medicen Softlanding 2017!

After brainstorming with our internal team, our experts and our mentors, we selected the companies based on 5 criteria: Team, Traction, Innovation, Business Model/Reimbursement and Financial Capacities. The selection was tough, because all companies had strengths and good opportunities for the U.S Market. But two of them stood out and we made our final decision:

  • DAMAE Medical, which provides dermatologists with an in vivo imaging modality capable of producing in-depth images of the tissue, similar to histology without the need for skin tissue excision and processing. Our jury especially praised the great potential of their technology, and its ability to answer unmet medical needs in the U.S.
  • Neurallys, which develops a smart sensor offering continuous measurement of intracranial pressure for patients living with hydrocephalus to diagnose valve dysfunction. The technology aims at increasing patient comfort and preventing exploratory surgeries for people who have a shunt. Our jury valued Neurallys’ disruptive technology and the expertise of their team, supported by strong KOLs.

The two companies will get the chance to pitch at the Massmedic MedTech Showcase on October 27th in Waltham, MA (Boston area). Every year, this event gathers entrepreneurs, investors and representatives from Medical Organizations from the U.S, Canada and France. We will also organize a dedicated pitch training session for them before the event, and should have an award ceremony at the Boston City Hall.

We thank the organizers of the Medicen Softlanding Program for their trust and their accurate feedback on our project“, said Anais Barut, CEO and co-founder of DAMAE Medical. “I will be happy to come back to Boston in October for the Massmedic MedTech Showcase“.

We are very happy to be selected and will be present for the next step of the program. In the meantime, we will work on some aspects highlighted by French Tech Hub experts and prepare our trip for this October!” said Philippe Auvray, Neurallys’ CEO.

We look forward to welcoming them in Boston this fall!
