A successful week with the 2017 Medicen Delegation!

Last week in Boston, French Tech Hub’s team hosted the delegation of 8 Medtech companies as part of the Boston Softlanding Program organized in partnership with Medicen. The members of the delegation attended a series of high-quality workshops, healthcare events and individual mentoring sessions.

The workshops were defined based on the companies most pressing needs:

  • Regulatory convergence between the U.S and Europe (FDA-EMEA)
  • Clinical studies optimization between France and the U.S
  • Healthcare Economics: How to build a successful business strategy, whether or not your product/solution gets reimbursed
  • Fundraising: best practices for a French company raising funds in the U.S.
  • IP: How to protect your IP
  • Operations: How to set up operations in the U.S

The companies attended two main events to meet with local healthcare ecosystem:

  • A Techmeeting on “When Engineering meets Healthcare” powered by the Open Innovation Club where the companies had the opportunity to pitch in front of an audience of 60+ people
  • The MassMedic Annual Conference 2017

In addition to the group agenda, each company had the chance to individually meet with members of the French Tech Hub community and other C-Level executives, Professors, Physicians and consultants. In total, French Tech Hub organized more than 80 individual meetings, including mentoring sessions, B2B meetings or partnership negotiations.

While some companies have already started their activities in the U.S and participated in the program to precise their U.S strategy and meet with potential partners, others will leave Boston with valuable insights to validate their business model to prepare their future U.S development.

We were really happy to be part of the 2017 delegation coming to Boston. We appreciated the quality of the workshops and the overall organization of the week. We are leaving Boston with a better idea of how to tackle the U.S Market and how to optimize our regulatory pathway” – Anais Barut, CEO & CO-founder of DAMAE Medical

The Softlanding week went far above my expectations. I received great advice from French Tech Hub mentors and had the opportunity to exchange with key potential partners. The program was very useful to help us precise our strategy plans to address the US market” – Aurélie Drouet, Medical Product Manager, RYTHM

After this Softlanding week, two companies will be selected to participate to the MassMedic Tech Showcase 2017 (in October), based on 5 criteria: Team, Traction, Innovation, Business Model/Reimbursement and Financial Capacities.

We will announce the 2 laureates this summer. Stay tuned!
